Quick answer
What Is a Business Call Recording System?
A business call recording system captures selected telephone conversations and stores them so authorised users can find, play, review and export a specific call when needed. A dependable solution includes more than recording software. It also needs a written recording policy, sufficient storage, controlled access, reliable timestamps, retention rules, backup or archiving, and tested retrieval.
TekkPak offers two proven architectures. Grandstream UCM630x is an appliance based IP PBX solution that is especially well suited to on premise deployments and organisations that want core PBX and recording capabilities in a single platform. 3CX is a software based communications platform that can be deployed on premise or in the cloud and is particularly strong for distributed teams, call centres, role based management and business application integration.
Business outcomes
Why Organisations Record Business Conversations
Recordings become useful business evidence only when they can be protected, located and reviewed by the right people.
Quality Assurance
Review actual customer interactions, identify service gaps and build consistent quality scoring.
Training & Coaching
Use approved call examples to improve listening, product knowledge, scripts and escalation handling.
Dispute Resolution
Verify what was requested, offered, authorised or promised instead of relying on conflicting recollections.
Compliance Review
Retain and retrieve in scope conversations under an organisation approved legal and governance process.
Sales Improvement
Identify stronger discovery questions, recurring objections, missed opportunities and effective behaviours.
Operational Evidence
Confirm orders, bookings, service requests, delivery instructions, support actions and verbal requirements.

Choose the Architecture That Fits Your Business
TekkPak supports both platforms, so the recommendation can be based on your sites, trunks, users, storage policy, integration needs and budget.

Designed as a system
What TekkPak Includes in the Solution Design
A recorder is only dependable when every layer from call capture to recovery has been planned and tested.
Recording Scope
Define which users, departments, call directions, queues, trunks and call types are in scope.
Storage Sizing
Estimate call volume, measured file size, retention duration, growth and operational headroom.
Role Based Access
Limit who may listen, download, delete, start, stop, administer or export recordings.
Reliable Retrieval
Test search by date, number, extension, queue and other available call data using authorised roles.
Backup & Archive
Design suitable NAS, snapshot, replication, remote storage or immutable controls when required.
Testing & Training
Run a controlled call matrix, verify both sides of the audio and train authorised administrators.
Industry applications
Which Business Sectors Use Conversation Recording?
Recording requirements vary by sector. The organisation must define the lawful purpose, notice or consent process, retention period and authorised access before production use.

- 03
Deploy
Configure the PBX, endpoints, recording rules, notices, storage, permissions and alerts.
- 04
Validate
Test inbound, outbound, transferred, queued, mobile and desk phone scenarios that are in scope.
- 05
Handover
Demonstrate retrieval and recovery, document the design, train authorised users and agree support.
Governance first
Recording Technology Does Not Create Legal Compliance by Itself
Call recording laws and sector rules can depend on the countries involved, the purpose of recording, the parties, the type of information, notice or consent requirements, retention obligations and authorised disclosure. Before enabling production recording, obtain written guidance from your legal and compliance advisers.
- Approve the purpose and lawful basis
- Use an approved notice or consent flow where required
- Restrict playback, export and deletion
- Document retention and legal hold procedures
- Protect recordings in storage and backup
- Review access and recovery tests periodically

Frequently asked questions
Call Recording System FAQ
What is the difference between call recording and conversation recording?
In business telephony, the terms are commonly used for the same core capability: capturing telephone conversations so authorised users can review them later. Conversation recording can be the broader phrase because the design may cover desk phones, softphones, mobile clients, queues and selected internal or external interactions.
Can a business automatically record every call?
Both Grandstream UCM630x and 3CX can support automatic recording for selected users or call flows, subject to platform configuration, model or licence capabilities and the organisation's approved policy. The exact scope must be tested for inbound, outbound, internal, transferred and queued calls that matter to the business.
Which is better for call recording, Grandstream UCM630x or 3CX?
Neither platform is universally better. Grandstream UCM630x is often attractive for an integrated on premise appliance, local control and analogue line connectivity. 3CX is often attractive for cloud or multi site deployments, remote users, call centre operations, granular roles and software integrations. TekkPak sizes both options against the actual requirement.
Can recordings be stored on a NAS or external storage?
Yes, suitable external or network storage can be incorporated into a Grandstream or 3CX design, subject to the supported method and final architecture. The storage should be sized, access controlled, monitored and backed up. An archive is not automatically an independent backup or immutable evidence store.
Can users be prevented from deleting recordings?
Access and deletion rights can be restricted through the relevant platform and storage design. Direct access to the server, NAS, backup or cloud account must also be controlled because PBX permissions alone cannot protect files from a storage administrator.
How much storage does a call recording system need?
Capacity depends on codec, call duration, number of recorded calls, peak volume, retention period, replicas and growth. TekkPak recommends measuring actual recording size during a pilot and adding operational headroom instead of relying only on a generic per minute estimate.
Can Grandstream IP phones be used with 3CX?
Many Grandstream SIP desk phones can be used with 3CX when the exact model and provisioning method are supported for the deployed 3CX version. TekkPak can select, supply and provision suitable IP phones as part of the solution.
Can a specific old recording be found quickly?
A properly configured system lets authorised users narrow the search using available call data such as date and time, telephone number, extension, user, queue, direction or duration. TekkPak includes retrieval testing because recording a call is not useful if the target conversation cannot be located reliably.
Is it legal to record business calls in Pakistan?
Legality depends on the purpose, sector, parties, information involved and applicable laws, regulations and contractual duties. Recording may also involve people in other jurisdictions. Obtain advice from qualified legal and compliance professionals and approve the notice or consent process before enabling production recording.
Does TekkPak provide installation and support across Pakistan?
TekkPak Technologies provides requirement analysis, solution design, supply, configuration, deployment, testing, training and support for Grandstream and 3CX based systems. On site availability, timelines and support coverage are confirmed for each project location.
